Support
How can we help?
Quick answers are below. For anything else, email us.
Getting started
Which phones does nRange work on?
iPhone (iOS 15.6 or later) and Android phones with GPS. The Apple Watch app needs watchOS 10.6 or later and a paired iPhone.
Do I need an account?
Yes. Sign in with your email or Google account. Your account keeps your rounds, stats, handicap and subscription, so they're there when you switch phones.
The app says it needs location access.
nRange measures from where you're standing, so it needs your location while the app is in use. On iPhone, go to Settings › nRange › Location. On Android, go to Settings › Apps › nRange › Permissions. For the best accuracy, turn on Precise Location.
What does nRange do with my data?
nRange uses your location for distances and nearby courses, and stores your account, rounds and stats so they follow you between devices. We don't sell your data or show ads. The Privacy Policy has the details, including how to delete your account.
Can I see distances in meters?
Yes. Go to Settings › Distance Unit and switch from Yards to Meters.
How accurate are the distances?
Distances come from your phone's GPS, so accuracy depends on the signal. Give it a few seconds on the tee to settle, and keep Precise Location turned on.
Courses
My course isn't in the app.
Search by course name as well as nearby. If it still isn't there, send us a course request with the course name and location.
A green or hazard is in the wrong place.
Courses change: greens get rebuilt and tees get moved. Email nrange@nrange.com with the course, the hole and what looks wrong so we can correct it.
Rounds, stats & online play
Where's my round history? It used to be on the website.
Round history and stats now live in the app, under the Rounds and Stats tabs. Sign in with the same account to see them.
Why don't I have a handicap index yet?
The index is calculated from complete 18-hole rounds played on courses with a rating and slope on record. It uses the best 10 of your last 20 differentials. If you already have an official index, you can enter it on the 18H tab.
What happened to Games and the Leaderboard?
They're now Online play in the app. Host a lobby, share the code or QR code, and everyone appears on a live leaderboard. Online play is part of Premium.
Premium & billing
What does Premium include?
Every course, satellite maps with 3D terrain, online play, and stats with your handicap index. Plans run weekly, monthly, quarterly or half-yearly. See Pricing for details.
How do I cancel?
Premium is billed through the store you bought it from. On iPhone, open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions. On Android, open Google Play, tap your profile, then Payments & subscriptions › Subscriptions. Premium stays active until the end of the period you've paid for, and you keep every course you've already opened.
I reinstalled the app or changed phones. Do I have to pay again?
No. Sign in to the same account and restore your purchase. Your subscription carries over.
I paid but the app still shows the free version.
Make sure you're signed in with the account you subscribed on, then pull down on the subscription screen to refresh. If it still doesn't show, email nrange@nrange.com with your store receipt.
