This course was built on flat terrain and has narrow tree lined fairways The course is centrally located two miles from the Atlantic Ocean so expect the ocean breezes to frequently come into play Hole 14 a 387 yard par 4 plays uphill to the Reynolds Channel and 15 a 377 yard par 4 plays away from the channel Water hazards eight ponds come into play on ten holes The greens are mostly flat but there are some subtle undulations that can make them difficult to read at times Sand bunkers protect almost all the greens and many of the fairways The signature hole is 14 requiring a tee shot directly into the wind Mid and short irons are only allowed on the driving range due to environmental concerns about hitting balls into the ocean Tee times are only reserved for members by a lottery system held one week in advance
