Oak Hill Country Club
This club features two outstanding courses deigned by Donald Ross the East and the West The East is very demanding off nearly every tee box because the fairways are lined with large maples oaks and other mature trees that make the landing areas narrow The greens tend to run very fast and feature Ross s signature undulations and slopes Water comes into play on five holes and the course s signature hole the 594 yard par 5 13th demands not only accuracy and length off the tee but also an approach shot over water to a well bunkered green The West Course is thought to be the easier of the two courses because the fairways are slightly wider and the greens tend not to be as fast There is no water coming into play on this course The club hosted the 1956 1968 and 1989 U S Opens and the 2003 PGA Championship won by Shaun Micheel The club also hosted the 1995 Ryder Cup and the 1998 U S Amateur
