This resort has three outstanding eighteen hole courses and an eighteen hole par 3 course The Gailes Course is a links style design that features sod faced bunkers and tall heather rough lining all its fairways There are two double greens like those at Saint Andrews in Scotland GOLF Magazine rated this course 42nd among the 100 Greatest Courses in the U S for 1998 and GOLFWEEK ranked it 45th in the category of America s 100 Best Classical Courses for 1997 The Resort Course is very beautiful because of all the flowers and trees A wide variety of wildlife populates this course There are water hazards coming into play on both regulation courses New in 2001 is the Blackshire Course Designed to emulate the style look and feel of Pine Valley C C in New Jersey Architect Kevin Aldridge has given this course a rugged and natural feel The Blackshire s 18 holes are cut through hardwoods pines and there are large sand waste areas along the fairways trees and greens In addition the resort also features the Wee Links Par 3 Course The Wee Links Course has small greens except for two that are double tiered Deep bunkers hug the greens and numerous holes are surrounded by tall fescue A water hazard stretches the length of the back nine and four holes play over it The scorecard doesn t show handicaps for individual holes on the Wee Links Par 3 Course If you are staying at the resort there is no charge to play this course Free golf clinics are available for resort guests Monday through Friday
