This course is located in a natural setting on a former ranch Relics of its past are located throughout the property including 100 year old farm machinery resting in random places on the course It lies at the base of the 13,000 foot Mt Sopris which presents a stunning backdrop The course begins with a tricky 408 yard par 4 requiring a tee shot that must carry approximately 180 yards over the Crystal River The back nine begins with a 434 yard par 4 which calls for a difficult tee shot that must travel over the Crystal River and slightly uphill Anything low or left will find the large cottonwoods or the river The approach is to a green protected by bunkers in the front and left sides and the river on the right Three other holes also play over the Crystal River
