This course s front nine is fairly open and its back nine has severely undulating greens The Androscoggin River flows alongside the course and will come into play if you slice a shot on hole 12 a 603 yard par 5 which runs the entire length of the river Phil Wogan designed the back nine which was added in 1963 and Geoffrey Cornish and Brian Silva redesigned all eighteen in a few years later
