Medinah Country Club
The home of three courses Medinah is known for both great golf and a unique clubhouse inspired by the classic lines of Byzantine Asian French and Italian architecture characteristic of many Masonic structures The featured course is No 3 which has been lengthened over the years to 7,508 yards from the back tees The course was carved out of a forest and features narrow tree lined fairways The signature hole is 13 a 219 yard par 3 that requires a tee shot over Lake Kadijahto to a small green In fact four holes require players to hit over the lake Medinah No 2 is the shortest course of the three and the most forgiving The fairways are more open and the greens tend not to roll as fast The No 1 course is also not as challenging as No 3 but this course can be difficult because its greens run fast and are very undulating The 1949 1975 and 1990 U S Opens were held at Medinah as were the 1999 and 2006 PGA Championships both of which were won by Tiger Woods For more information about Medinah go to medinahcc org
